Danish poker pro Gus Hansen is the only player to have four World Poker Tour (WPT) titles to his name. He has banked over $7.1 million in career tournament earnings and is 20th on the All Time Money List.

Gus started out touring backgammon and gin rummy clubs in New York in the 1990s. He met Full Tilt Poker’s Huckleberry Seed, and was introduced to poker. In 1996, Gus played his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) event but was eliminated on the first day. Determined to learn more, he abandoned backgammon for poker. Gus began making frequent visits to Las Vegas and in 2002, he turned pro.

In his breakout year, Gus won the 2002 WPT $10K No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, for more than $556K. He also took down the $10K No-Limit Hold 'em Championship at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, winning over $532K. In 2003 he won the invitation-only Bad Boys of Poker tournament for $25K. In early 2004, he earned his fourth WPT title at the Caribbean Adventure tournament, banking more than $455K.

At the 2005 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament in San Jose, Gus placed 3rd for over $300K. With an additional four WPT wins and five final table appearances that year, Gus was catapulted to superstar status in the poker world. That year he was honoured with one of the first spots on the WPT's Poker Walk of Fame. In 2005, he reached the final table of the FullTiltPoker.Net Poker Invitational from Monaco, and took down the Grand Final of the inaugural Poker Superstars Invitational.

In 2007, Gus earned a $1 million victory in the $10K Aussie Millions Main Event. He placed 2nd in the 2008 WPT’s World Championship at Bellagio Gus for $1.7 million. In 2008, Gus took 2nd place in the WPT’s $25K World Championship, for another $1.7 million. He also finished 10th at the 2008 WSOP $10K World Championship Mixed event.

Gus is a regular at the "Big Game" at the Bellagio. He can also be found playing high-stakes games online at Full Tilt Poker. Gus makes frequent appearances on televised poker series. In 2006, he beat Daniel Negreanu for a $575,700 pot on GSN High Stakes Poker, setting a new record for the biggest pot to be won on the show. In 2007, he was the first ever winner on Poker After Dark.

Gus provides poker commentary for Danish and American television, and is a founding partner of online poker community ThePlayr.com.  He wrote the book Every Hand Revealed and released an instructional poker DVD entitled Texas Hold 'Em Poker Advanced Strategies with Gus Hansen.

You can find Gus playing online exclusively at Full Tilt Poker.
